You really shouldn’t be so judging.

This valiant anti-patriarchy pseudowriter-amidst-a-writing-block is volunteering his precious B&BNY (born and bred New Yorker) time to women who can’t afford a shrink.

So instead of them paying $250 (how much is that in Euros this afternoon, 50 and falling to 35? ) for a 45 minute session, they get $15. A total win of $ 265 for them ain’t THAT bad, now is it?

He will definitely be able to find girls to talk to. I know several girls in this “industry” and the recession is hitting pretty hard. I’m not saying they aren’t working. They are definitely working, but their earnings are down like everyone else. $15 an hour, if it is legit, is still $15 guaranteed money.

Now, with that being said, I don’t know how much interest he will get. This is going to probably come off as a potential “hooker trap” and many will stay away for that instance alone.

Of course, that is my opinion.

Aside from the fact that he spelled the word judgment incorrectly, I might be in the minority to think that he should be able to find some girls willing to talk. I don’t think they’d feel “degraded” accepting such low pay compared to what they’re used to earning. And if they’re in their chosen profession because they like the attention, then wouldn’t they like someone listening to them talk about themselves? Maybe I’ve watched one too many documentaries or tv specials, but I’m guessing a nice, calm fully clothed interview would be a walk in the park compared to the daily work of those professions.
