Quick Freelance Writing Tip: Prepare Your 2009 Editorial Calendar

I know, I know. It’s early November. Still, it’s a good time to prepare yourself for the new year. One of the ways you can do this is by setting up your editorial calendar for next year. When you think about it, this is the perfect time. The holidays are coming and you’re going to start getting busy. You don’t want to find yourself at the first of the year with nothing planned.

Here’s a video I posted last spring about my editorial calendar. Though this talks about planning my editorial calendar a week in advance, I often plan way ahead of that. I fill in Holiday stuff beginning in October and back to school in July. By planning early I can post early – and I’m ready when the searching begins.

Nov is also a good time to prospect, because most others wait until after the holidays.
