So, today there are a ton of good looking local jobs and almost no decent telecommute gigs. Ah well.
Bonus tip o’ the day: When you email your bio/resume/what have you to apply for a gig, say where you’re from. I’ve landed many a gig because someone is interested in where I’m from. I.e. they’re all, “Hey, I always wanted to visit Oregon, what’s it like?!” We get chatting and getting a conversation going is a great way to stay ahead of the pack when applying for work.

SEO Copywriter FYI lower pay than I like to see for web articles, but word count is low and if you could turn out two per hour it could pay ok.

Interestingly, two of the links lead to a similar post for a staff writer position. They have the same text. They mention the same magazine yet one says the position is in Orlando, Fl and the other in Anchorage, AK. It’s a start-up offering 55,000 dollar salary. And the ad requests a sample. Sounds suspicious to me.
Ah maybe you caught a lame ad I missed. I look at what seems like hundreds of ads a day and only choose what appears to be decent. However, you’re not wrong, that it highly suspicious.
That pay rate for Alaska isn’t out of whack, nor is the one looking for a full-time ME. That’s why I harp about freelancers selling themselves short when they accept things that pay around minimum wage.
I think the pay is good, and normal actually – BUT how the ad is worded felt odd to me. It may be a good job, but you know when an ad strikes you as oddly written, this one did feel off to me.
