From Network Blogging to Blogging for a Living

The other day my blogging partner in crime, Jennifer Chait, and I had a conversation about this blog. Since neither of us really believe network blogging is the way to go when wanting to earn a real, sustainable living as a blogger, or even make a name for one’s self as a blogger, we wondered if a blog called “Network Blogging Tips” really reflects the way we feel about blogging for a living.
Good Intentions
Originally we started the blog because we both worked for blog networks and thought we could share tips and ideas for making the most of a network blogging experience. Sadly, as more networks close their doors, lower their pay and become no more than glorified content mills, we’re thinking it’s time to encourage bloggers to move beyond network blogging.
From Network Blogging to Blogging for a Living
As you may have noticed lately, we’re moving our focus from only network blogging, to blogging for a living. We’ll be discussing the blogging opportunities available and ways to earn a real, livable salary as a professional blogger. We will also focus on using blogging skills for other careers, for instance, social media.
So in the next week or so, look for a name change and a change of focus. That doesn’t mean we won’t still talk about network blogging, but we will focus more on blogging for a living, how to be a successful professional blogger and the different avenues blogging can take you.
Rock on.

Yay! Looking forward to the changes and to reading everything you have to say, as this is the direction I see myself going in the near future. Thanks.
I just want to submit my work and eventually get paid for it. Thanks!
Glad to hear you’re branching out with a wider emphasis on blogging for money. It’s a good topic, and I’m sure lots of folks will benefit from it!
