@Angie - glad the info is helpful. I'm betting the PR folks will have some interesting tips too. I'm curious to hear what they have to say for sure. Thanks for suggesting such a useful topic.

@Peggy hey; your mixed feelings about email are interesting. Sometimes, no matter how specific I am at ProfNet or elsewhere I get some totally wacky stuff, that I just can't see emailing back about. But maybe I could be more clear, or maybe people really think they're helping. I'm not sure. I agree with your last statement completely too. When I email a company I make sure to check them out first. I hate when I get an email that's pretending to be fan mail and you know it's bull. I also hate when I get an email that goes - I LOVE your blog can you show (whatever product) but there's no blog mention. Since I have over eight blogs I'm always like, um, which blog??

Hey, looking forward to what PR folks think of bloggers! :) I used to work with lots of PR talents, but that was back before blogging was considered mainstream enough to mess with. I never understood why PR people always seemed so busy, but now that I'm working closely with some of them on interviews or reviews, I get it.

For the most part, I'm happy that PR folks take me so seriously as a blogger. I think many of them are beginning to understand the influence we have.

As for not emailing PR people back- I have mixed feelings on that. If it's from a ProfNet query and well targeted, I feel that I've wasted their time if I don't email back. However, if it's from a random person who got my email from the blog, I don't feel so bad.

What I hate as a blogger is when a PR person tries to make it sound like they are a big fan of my blog and they read it all the time. I can tell the bull#$#@ when I see it.
Know what I mean?

No tips as I'm here to learn about all of this PR stuff. Thank you for the great info. I think I have a better handle on it all now and once I get all the PR stuff organized into a folder then I'll go through them to see who I might be able to help promote or connect with. We'll see how it all goes.

Appreciate you taking the time to post help this week.
