I got the call yesterday to pick up my sick child from school and he’s home with me again today. My productivity went down to 50% with just one phone call. Wherever you are today, I hope your day is productive and positive.

I think if all the freelancing websites that I have searched for and seen this one has been pretty good and insightful. Although I haven’t found a freelance gig with your posted links..yet, but I’ll keep on trying!
Sorry about your child being sick. Though I generally don’t approve of the “TV sitter,” sometimes it’s best to rely on this some for a sick child so that you can concentrate on whatyou need to do. Also, child has to know that they have to fend for themselves a little, even when sick (a good life lesson). Productivity will still go down, the child does need extra attention, but sometimes they milk it for all it’s worth — I did it as a kid, too, but that was back in the day of stay-at-home, no income, June Cleaver-type (no pearls, though) moms.
Hope he feels better soon! Thanks for a great list today. Lots of options.
It’s exam week here, so the high school is starting later in the morning and ending at 11:30 so that kids are in school for three 1/2 hours. Wreaks havoc on car pools because most parents are already in work for 8 and can’t get out to bring their kids home and then get back to work. I end up having to do both ends of the runs which really messes up a normal routine. Friday’s worse, they go to school at 8 and get out at 9:30. Almost makes it not worthwhile.
get well soon Deb’s son
Sorry to hear about your son. When he becomes more cranky then you know he is on the mend.
Stream of consciousness as a writer is important to me. When my daughter or husband interrupts me, it shows in my articles. I don’t know if there is a happy medium. Actually, there is a happy medium, but it comes and goes, it’s not constant.
Final note, think in futures — there will be a day you’ll wish he was home with you. I love my mom! God rest her soul.
Thanks for the list.
