  1. Fiona says:

    Great list!
This month has actually been my slowest and lowest paying ever but I’ve used the downtime to focus on query letters, and my own creative writing ideas. Now things are looking up again with a new blogging client, two publishers interested in book proposals and more work on the horizon.
To anyone else out there feeling discouraged – keep busy and it will pay off.

  2. Dorothy says:

    Deb,
The first link comes up blank… is it just me?
    D

  3. Katrina says:

What a fantastic list! Thank you so much for the work you do.

  4. Great list as usual. Number 14 wants free samples. Tread carefully.

  5. Cynthia says:

I don’t usually get in on this pay rate debate but come on…

    http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/wri/1243863481.html

They want an experienced in-house COPYWRITER for 8.00 an hour (Due to the economy) it says. I can bag groceries with no experience and make 10 an hour. What is happening to this world!

  6. Deb says:

@Cynthia – My apologies. That’s way below the minimum rate for gigs I post at FWJ – that one shouldn’t have gotten in.

  7. Anjalla says:

Hi.. you thew mw for a spin for a minute… the date you have posted is 2008…thought I missed a year for a sec….;-) (need a poofreader?) LOL

  8. Anjalla says:

yep I ment to spell proofreader that way.;-)

  9. Kenna says:

    Thanks for the list.

  10. Cynthia says:

@Deb, wasn’t on your list, it was in my local area, so I saw it and was just appalled, mostly because it came on the heels of an employer asking my pay rate then when I replied, saying I’m too expensive. If they have a pay rate in my, why not say it up front and save us all a lot of time.

  11. Frank says:

I sent a response to item #51 on your list, the $20/hr position in Raleigh. Got a response barely half an hour later. Turns out this isn’t a writing job but an AMAZING MONEY MAKING OPPORTUNITY!!! No, really! It is! And you only have to let them fleece you for… I mean pay $37 to join. Here’s the link:

As always, thanks for the rest of the list… well, except this and the $8/hr copywriter I suppose.
