Great posts today! #1 and #13 are the same company however (just fyi). And the ETS gig in #7 is a good one if you can get it. They are a good, solid organization to work for.

Michi – me too! I applied for this months ago, got a form letter back, and they said the position was filled. I’m guessing they had someone who either left or didn’t work out.

I’m the About.com Guide to Law School, and I think it’s a pretty good gig; you have a lot of freedom once you’re past the interview process. Best of luck!

As for the ad for Entrepreneur, if you look on About’s actual page (beaguide.about.com), that topic isn’t listed; the link here is to an independent job site that just may have been recycling.

#4 – Biblio Buffet

People may want to tread cautiously. I applied for a writing book reviews for them in the summer. They said only established writers get to review books for their site and that everyone else has to be a guest contributor for less pay than their writers. With that, I was told to submit my idea for an article. I did and then was told to go ahead and write it by the editor. She said they couldn’t say when other articles would be used but they were definitely interested. I did the work, submitted it and never heard another word.

I’ve not been through it, but if they’re looking for an Entrepreneur Guide, as the ad says, they’re pretty sneaky. I applied for this exact Guide position not long ago. I just checked my status, and it says they’d selected another candidate. If they’ve picked someone else, what are they running the ad for??

Anyone gone through the About.com training process before? I just now completed Stage 2 of it, and am now waiting to find out if I made it through as a guide…
