Greetings and welcome to my last leads post of the week. Our good friend Jodee Redmond will be providing leads for the rest of the week while I’m attending the BlogWorld and New Media Expo. Jodee handled leads for about a year here, so she really knows where to find the good stuff.
Here’s what’s new around the FWJ network:
- Free Content: It’s All in the Wording
- Who is Right: The Customer or the Writer?
- Is Freelance Writing a Transient Niche?
Some News:
- Friend of FWJ, Diana Scimone, is hosting a webinar called, “How to Write a Book.” Please see the details here. It’s not an affiliate link, I’m just supporting a member of this community. If you have some news relating to freelance writing you’d like for me to post here, drop me a line.

Content writing job #1 (Health writer) does not mention pay. proceed with caution.
Someone passed on this job opportunity/contest to me. Given the fact that winter is approaching and the last thing I am in winter is happy, I’m passing. But if someone does want the chance to make $5,000 a month and win a new computer, it might be worth looking into.

How funny. I just applied for that gig, Anne. If anyone would care to vote, I have my page in my link. To me, it would be a perfect gig for so many reasons. If anyone else here tries for it, I wish you luck.
Regarding today’s leads, how cool would the NetFlix gig be? Sounds like fun.
Get paid to watch movies. I wonder what it pays.
The Netflix gig looked interesting, and I’ve written many movie reviews – but they really need someone with specific qualifications – film school and such. Oh well!
With the Netflix job, I figured that they could just look up my account, see all the movie reviews I’ve already done for them and have them consider that, film school experience or not. I’ve already done so many reviews for them for free no less that it should count for something. With that, I submitted an application anyway and figure the worst that comes of it is they say no.
Great leads again Deb! Have a great time at the expo!
#5 – Freelance Health Writers – wants you to apply with your “first article in the body of the email.” Please be careful. They state they do not want resumes or samples, but your first article written already. And I’m pointing out the obvious, I’m sure: no guarantee of payment for said work, and every opportunity for them to use it.
Yep. #5 is looking for a bunch of FREE articles, which a bunch of suckers will deliver to them. If they wanted to see examples of your writing, they could ask for something completed already.
Thanks for the list. Have a great trip. It will be great to see Jodee again.
I just inquired about the lead under “Bloggers Needed – Los Angeles”. I got an e-mail reply within about a half hour from someone who provided a website link which led directly to FreelanceHomeWriters.com and their wild claims.
Proceed with caution…….
I also tried for the bloggers – LA gig, and I also got the email, I signed up for the site to see what it was all about. As soon as you sign up you are redirected to a sales page to buy a membership for a survey scout site, i.e. make billions of dollars each month taking surveys. Just wanted everyone to know not to waste your time.
I’m starting to respond to the 900-1,000 word jobs for $20 IF it’s the kind of work that can be done in an hour.
Patient Assistance job- I got a response today and right now it sounds okay. You do have to sign up for a free membership and then for the private group on the site that is for Patient Assistance writers only. Not sure where it will go from there yet.
But I know Tish said to proceed with caution because they don’t mention pay. I can add the info on that now, but I still don’t know word counts.

Ugh… It’s one of those days I guess. The system removed what I copied and pasted so I’ll just retype details for the Patient Assistance writing job.
Pay for each article is yet to be determined. They say rates will be based on experience, research involved, loyalty and word count. Right now they’ve had applicants quoting rates of anywhere from $10 per article to $300 per article.
Enjoy your trip to BlogWorld and New Media Expo!
Thanks for the leads! I applied for the Christian writer a few days ago, and was told they have the needed amount right now, BUT that it could change in the future. I’m very hopeful though…it looks promising.
