I’m new and have a question. I suffered a sudden disability and have to reconsider my career options. A lot of the more reputable (i.e. non-Craigslist) jobs want a resume. Problem is, all my experience is in another field. I figured the best way around that would be to prepare some samples in different writing styles (formal informative, argumentative, conversational, etc.) and jump right in, but now I’m not so sure. Do I really have to sell my soul to some slavedriver on a bid site for sub-minimum wage to get ahead?

I had great news last night. I posted an ad looking for work in our local craigslist after learning the online company that promoted me to marketing manager a few months ago can’t afford to pay me anymore, so they cut the position. I needed something to make up the difference. Turns out an area Web design company was in need of a writer and they’ve offered me the job for $40 an hour working from home. So Craigslist paid off for me this time!
