Magazine Writing Gigs
Just a heads-up…I write for Examiner.com (ad near the top of this post), and I can tell you it probably doesn’t belong on a job site. It is a pay-per-click gig, not paid per article, and most people are unable to draw enough traffic for it to be lucrative. I knew this going into it, but I have other reasons for writing for them than for the money. Not saying Examiner is a bad gig–I enjoy writing for them–I’m just saying it’s better suited as a hobby than as a job.
Thanks for the heads up, Jeff!
I also wrote for Examiner.com, and no it does not pay much so I haven’t been on there in a long while. I did like what I was writing about though, but like Jeff said it is really more like a hobby than an actual writing gig.
I write for Associated Content and Suite 101. I know there’s no big pay in writing for these sites, but I like what I’m doing. I’m new to this work, so right now it’s all about getting clips together and getting exposure. Hopefully before long I’ll have real paying work. I look forward to job postings as well because even though I don’t get a lot of responses to my applying for writing gigs (yet), I’m getting my name out there. I hope one day someone will remember my name and give me a chance they may have not given me before.
Wow, Deb’s been gone for what, two weeks? This site is already suffering! Hope Deb made lots of money on the transaction because this site is about two more weeks away from being irrelevant!
No job listings for 10 days now? Yeah, I’m going elsewhere.
The job listings appear on my home page and within the site. Did you clear your cache?
I cleared the cache. It didn’t work for me.
Such a sad sight to see such a great site go downhill like this.
Guys, check out the home page again. 🙂
