The Role

We are looking for a Junior Book Ghostwriter to support the creation of cybersecurity guidebooks for technical and executive audiences—guidebooks like this: https://a.co/d/gOKwcBs.

In this role, you will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to turn their knowledge into clear, structured, and readable first drafts. You will focus on organizing information, ensuring technical accuracy, and producing well-structured content that can be refined into a polished final manuscript. While senior team members will help shape tone and final voice, you will play a key role in building the foundation of each book.

If you enjoy working with complex ideas, organizing technical content, and collaborating with experts to create long-form materials, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Write high-quality, engaging, and well-structured long-form books.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to help define the overall vision, scope, and positioning of each book or long-form content project in alignment with company goals.
  • Conduct background research and synthesize expert input to identify key themes, knowledge gaps, and opportunities to strengthen clarity, relevance, and impact for target cybersecurity audiences.
  • Work closely with SMEs, editors, designers, and other contributors to plan, develop, and refine content structure, ensuring logical flow, consistency, and high editorial quality.
  • Create and maintain detailed content outlines and writing plans, managing chapters, revisions, and milestones to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of manuscripts.
  • Develop and maintain supporting documentation for each project, including outlines, style notes, cross-references, tables of contents, indexes, and other publication-ready materials.

Required Competencies

  • Writing: Exceptional ability to produce clear, engaging, and authoritative long-form content, with strong control over structure, flow, and narrative voice.
  • Content Structuring & Formatting: Advanced skills in organizing long-form material, including headings, cross-references, tables of contents, and indexes.
  • Autonomy & Accountability: Responsible and self-motivated, able to manage writing tasks independently while meeting agreed timelines and deliverables.
  • Cybersecurity Understanding: Basic familiarity with cybersecurity concepts (e.g., common threats, security best practices, or enterprise security topics) or a strong willingness to learn quickly and work closely with Subject Matter Experts to build domain knowledge.
  • Editorial Judgment: Strong sense of clarity, consistency, and quality, with the ability to self-edit and refine content before review.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Opportunity to shape the future of cybersecurity training and professional development at scale.
  • Collaborative work environment with experienced professionals in cybersecurity, data privacy, AI, and instructional design.
  • Flexible work arrangement – fully remote
  • Full-time with sick pay and holidays
