Heavy Sports, a leading news and information website, is looking to partner with hard-charging, entrepreneurial freelance contributors to cover the NBA.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:
- A passion for and deep understanding of the NBA, specifically specialized knowledge of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Indiana Pacers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks or San Antonio Spurs
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills
- Ability and desire to react rapidly to on- and off-the-field breaking news
- Strong multi-tasking and communication skills
- Ability to quickly navigate social media to spot breaking news and find additional information after a story breaks
- Ability to produce clean and polished copy
Work autonomously and remotely. Compensation scales with performance.
