Proposal Writer

Job Description:

The Proposal Writer must effectively convey information about products and services, in many cases to those who might be unfamiliar with these details. The Proposal Writer must handle multiple revisions, edit and re-edit proposals as needed, and ensure proposals maintain a consistent tone and voice. This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under occasional pressure and meet challenging deadlines.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Seek out, evaluate, and respond to relevant Request for Proposals (RFP)

· Collaborate with Sales, Product Managers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and other internal stakeholders to select proposal strategy and approach

· Manage RFP schedule, deadlines, and addendums for multiple projects simultaneously

· Understand each client’s requirements and develop the corresponding proposal

· Develop proposal responses that combine both existing narrative and new content from SMEs, according to RFP guidelines

· Review and proofread all responses

· Maintain standard language library to ensure solutions are presented clearly and effectively

· Collect and review actionable competitive intelligence

· Enhance proposal templates as needed to conform with multiple products and brands

· Provide input on effective marketing techniques for proposal presentation

· Maintain quality control across sales collateral library

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent editing and proofing skills

· Excellent planning and organizational skills

· Ability to work in a time-sensitive, deadline-driven environment

· Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Government sales or other relevant government experience

· Software (SaaS application) industry experience

· Proficient in proposal management tool (Loopio, RFPIO, RFP360, or similar)

· Proficient in CRM tool (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)

· Experience working in Adobe Pro
