Senior Website Copywriter

At Level 10 Contractor, we’re a top marketing firm for the home improvement industry. We’re looking for two elite Senior Website Copywriters to join our expert team.

What we mean by “elite”:

• You obsess over every single word you write

As a Senior Website Copywriter, you’ll write content for our Client-Partners’ websites. Here are a few examples:

• ZenWindowsTwinCities.com
• 314Roofing.com
• 4EverRemodeling.com
• ElementKB.com

Every page in the main navigation? That’s what you’ll be writing. The homepage. The About Us page. The core services pages. Etcetera.

To do this, you’ll interview Client-Partners… find out what makes them awesome (a.k.a., their IDENTITY)… then write powerful, passionate, and precise copy for their websites.

7 Things You’ll Love About This Position

• You control how much you make. We pay you for every website you complete. The rate is $110 per webpage. Most of our websites are 20-50+ webpages ($2,200 to $5,500+ per site). You also get bonuses if you hit certain deadlines.
• You NEVER run out of work. We’re a growing company. We’re booked out for months. Contractors line up to work with us, and the queue gets longer every day. Hades will freeze over before you run out of work.

5 Things Not Everyone Loves About This Position

This position isn’t for everyone. Some can’t hack it. Here’s why:

• We focus on one industry. After a while, writing for one industry can feel repetitive. We want Senior Website Copywriters who write their 28th “Window Energy Efficiency” page with the same verve they wrote their first.
• The writing must ALWAYS be “Level 10” quality. We write in a powerful, passionate, precise style. Show us mediocre copy, and we’ll show you the door.
• There’s a learning curve. It’s steep. You’re not just top-notch writing content. You’re writing top-notch content while adhering to best SEO design practices. That includes header tags, metadata, and choosing the images for each page. You’ll initially feel in over your head. Don’t fret. We’ll train you in our templates and processes. These things become muscle memory.
• Work is “first come, first serve.” You can’t just be good—you have to be efficient. We dole out websites on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you’ve got other gigs or aren’t willing to put in the hours, you won’t make the $$ you want.
• Client-Partner approval process. We have a strict content-review policy that we make Client-Partners follow. The thing is, some of your Client-Partners will be REALLY busy running their companies. If a Client-Partner starts to lag on reviewing content, it’s your responsibility to keep them on track.

Required Qualifications

• No A.I. or outsourcing
• 4+ years of copywriting experience in marketing and/or advertising (sorry, no Copy Cubs)
• A powerful writing voice that punches readers in the mouth (in a good way)
• Near-flawless editing and proofreading skills
• Solid grasp of SEO principles and best practices
• Familiarity with project management software (we currently use Teamwork)
• Excellent communication skills—you’ll be communicating consistently with our team and with our Client-Partners
• The ability to take direction, feedback, and constructive criticism
• The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Must live in the United States
• Must have a working web camera for Zoom meetings
• Must be available for communication Monday through Friday from 9AM and 5PM Central

About The Pay

• We pay you for every website you complete (“complete” means “approved by the Client-Partner”)
• The rate is $110 per web page—you also get bonuses if you hit certain deadlines
• Most of our websites are 20-50 web pages ($2,200 to $5,500+ per site)
• You get paid on the 1st and 15th of every month
